In this article the dominate aspect of masculinity is being promoted. The writer speaks on how the growth of the athlete dominates the competition. From the size and power of lebron he’s view as guarding a brick wall. The athlete is listed 6’8 270 pounds with only 5% of body fat. Despite his muscular built Lebron James never really worked out up until last year 2009 says “Mike Mancias” the trainer of the Cav’s.

Paper#1 Advertisement Analysis Final draft

Why is masculinity such a desire in society? Men want to be seen as self-reliant, honorable, and respected. In the advertisement represented by body fortress a model is displaying hegemonic masculinity. The idea of this male behavior is strongly encouraged to aim dominant position over other men. Whey protein in the advertisement serves as an anecdote to the gain of muscle mass. This advertisement can not only profit but educate the consumer. The more muscle mass a man carry display’s his masculinity. In today’s time we judge how masculine a man is by his appearance.
In the body fortress ad the model displays an effective image from usage of the product. The model has a distinctive image because of his shaved head. The theme of the advertisement relates well with the model. There is action taking place within movement of the advertisement. The model is in a striking position targeting the product. This provides insight to the viewer that not only should I intake usage but I must become active in order for the product to be effective. The model shows complete dominance in the advertisement from his posture to his muscular built. He gives you this stare which you can determine his motive.
The product serves as a remedy to the purpose of gain. In the advertisement you see whey protein but you can’t determine how effective the product is just from reading the label. Therefore the relationship between the product and the model gives you the visual concept. The product is being hung from a rope chain which correlates bondage. Bondage represents the obstacle one has to face towards the lack of motivation. In result to the lack of motivation goal’s are hard are to achieve. In order to increase muscle mass you must engage in workout activities. The whey protein promotes a healthy everyday life for men. On the product there is caption of nutritional benefits.
Pre recording knowledge can be obtained from reading this advertisement, regardless if the reader chooses to move forward or not in preceding the task. The projection of the product will still educate the viewer. Below the product is a caption that provides resources in which the product can be located. The product is also convenient to the consumer. Whey protein fort tress can be found in your local retailer store. The product hold truth to the saying “education is the key to success”. Simply stating having knowledge of something will in better the outcome of a situation when you approach it. The statement relates to the advertisement in several ways. When a person chooses to commit themselves to working out you don’t enter without knowledge. A person must know what is recommended to obtain success. In the advertisement the product informs the reader in large font the nutritional gain towards muscle mass.
In the body fort tress advertisement the model represents modern hegemonic masculinity. The model is in a complete dominant striking pose. Giving the viewer a sense that whey is unbeatable. The message that body fort tress sends to the viewer is that if you endure our product you will become dominant like the model represented. The advertisement includes informational description of what is contained in the product. As well as how convenient it is to purchase.
