Paper # 2

Jerome House Miss B.
ENG 101-0800 11-29-2010

Why is a male considered to be homosexual for being a nurse? Rationally society feels traditional men are doctors and female are nurses. Men should not be discourages in pursuing a career as a nurse. If men chose to live their lives based on what the media, and, or society project, how could males be consider a man if our judgments are determined on what others think? Further more men should not be fearful of one’s opinion targeting their future in the health professions.
When it comes to a male in the nursing field there are a lot of stereotypes that follow the statement, such as man happen to lack behind a lot. Also they are said to be feminine foe wanting to work as a nurse. Society and our families teach us from early stages that men’s are doctors and women are nurses. Male nurses are also limited with access with their occupation. Men are not allowed in the delivery room. Due to the discriminations there are many male nurses that denied the opportunity to work in certain area in the hospital, such are the labor and delivery units and the nursery units says (Navarro).
In the health profession units are gathered by women and men. Neither gender shouldn’t shy away from entering a particular field due to fear. There are plenty of positions for both sexes. Each person has a dream of being someone important in the near future. Male nurses can offer some strength’s that most women can’t, such as lifting patients or fixing machineries that are used when treating patients.
Being a human being we are all entitle to have freedom of choice for our careers. I once heard this saying “follow your heart not someone else’s dreams.” Simply pursue what interest you as your career. If the work force was hand pick that would make jobs unbalanced. Work should be performed by the love with in the person who performs the task. Also the growth opportunities should be equal to both genders. Men should not be over looked in their profession, because it is considered to be a female’s job.
Further more men in the nursing field have equal opportunities, and or respect as females nurses. Mean have sided from their passion in most workforces due to discrimination from society and families. Male’s are just as important as women in nursing. With both sexes working as a unit over time men will be more accepted. Everyone is entitled to be who they want in this life. Therefore our minds shouldn’t be controlled by negativity.

Blog Post #8 Wedding Crashers

Title Of The Movie: Wedding Crashers
Director: David Dobkin
Actors/Performers(at least two): Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Christopher Walkin

Year: 2005

Medium Film

1) The two main male characters in the movie behavior towards other men in the movie are less aggressive. The men seem to get along with others whom share the same mentality ass them. On the other hand the two main characters behavior towards other women are agressive in a seductive manner. The two men gogal are just to get inand get out on the day to day bases in women lives. I do consider there behavior masculine. My reason for this is because in the eye of other males when you see a guy who sleep with many women he is consider to manly. Manly in the sense of matter the more women you have proves one masculinity to other men.

2)The movie emphasis more on the relationship between males and females. There are different views on how the opposing sex meet another. Also the movies shows the ups and down in relationships that people experience in the every day life. I feel as if there is a major connection between the movie and what David Grazian discusses about males. From what David discusses and the movie project men are consider to be a predator and women are our pray.

3)The ultimate message seem to be follow your heart and never shy away from what you set your mind on. The masculinity that
